Tommy Wells Construction was established in 1956 by Tommy and Doris Wells. The company started out building airports, roadways and manufacturing sites in the early days of the business. One of the key components to our company is family, Tommy’s brother, Richard Wells was his right hand man and helped Tommy grow the company. Tommy Wells Construction was founded on establishing and nurturing long term relationships with people and other companies, and this continues to hold true today, 60 years later. As competition in roadway and airport construction increased, we turned our focus to Industrial and Manufacturing sites, and by the end of the 90’s, were a leader in South Central Kentucky in Industrial excavation work.
In 2007, all four of Tommy and Doris’ children purchased the company. Tommy continued to mentor and guide his children in their business ventures within the company up until his passing in 2012. After working with the company for over 20 years, Melanie, one of the four children, decided to choose a different career path and sold her shares of the company in 2012. Today, Andy runs the day to day operations of the company, with Trina and Vanessa assisting in the Accounting and Marketing side of the company. Along with them, Trina’s husband, Ricky Wyatt is in charge of Safety. Andy’s son TA is a Project Manager/Estimator and both of Vanessa’s sons, Jackson and Creed are Project Managers and Estimators for the company as well. Tommy Wells Construction has had a bright and successful history, and the future looks to be the same as we continue to grow and evolve.
